Busy In The Kitchen! To keep myself busy I've been doing lots more cooking!
Cooking is a great way to keep yourself busy if, like me, you are self isolating in these difficult times.
Some meals I've made double the quantity and freezed them. This is handy for days when you can't cook or just want something easy.
I've made beef stew, bacon carbonara, real Cornish pasties (my Cornish Grandmother's recipe), beefburgers, chicken risotto and vegetable soup. I'm now planning meals for this coming week.
I've made lots of juices. Juices are easy to make and you don't have to stick to a recipe, you can throw in whatever fruit and veggies you have to hand. You can also freeze them. Its great fun experimenting, why not give it a go!

Assist Your Immune System
The immune system works perfectly well for most of us, most of the time. But there are few ways to increase protection during this time of uncertainty.Vitamin C
1000mg of vitamin C each day may reduce the time of the infection. It's easier to take a supplement rather than trying to get vitamin C from food especially when some foods are difficult to get at the moment.Vitamin D
Our bodies make vitamin D through sunlight but in the autumn, winter and spring months the sunshine is very weak. So a supplement of vitamin D of 10 micrograms a day is recommended to help protect against respiratory infections.Exercise
Exercising on a regular basis helps to keep your immune system working. You can exercise at home by gardening, DVD workouts, classes online, even TV are putting on exercise classes.
Stress raises cortisol levels and raised cortisol levels can negatively affect the immune system, so stay calm and stress free.

Keeping Busy!Don't Get Bored!
Keeping busy and finding things to do at home is key to staying home and staying safe during this time of uncertainty. I'm staying at home for the next 3 months as I'm in the 'at risk' category.
I have put together a list of things I will be doing to keep myself busy.
I have a pile of books I want to read.
I have started knitting a jumper for next winter.
I have started getting the soil ready for my veg bed, will be planting seeds soon.
I'm going to try some new recipes.
I've started writing my book.
I've started an online course, I love learning.
I hate house cleaning so I'm going to try to enjoy it by playing my favourite music loudly - Kasabian!
I think this list will keep me going for a while!

Playing it Safe!Self Isolating
I'm in the 'at risk' category in regards to coronavirus. I have severe asthma, re-occurring chest infections and had pneumonia several times. I know my knackered lungs would not be able to cope with the coronavirus so I've decided to self-isolate for 3 months to try to keep myself safe.
Many older and 'at risk' are complaining about having to self isolate and for so long but you have to ask yourself - is your life worth it?
I feel my life is worth the 3 month commitment and its up to me to keep myself out of danger, keep myself occupied and entertained during this testing time.
