Fibromyalgia remedies are often stumbled upon purely by chance. When you find a remedy that works for you its worth sticking to it and experimenting with it as the relief can be enormous.

How I cope with Fibromyalgia

I find that when I'm stressed the fibromyalgia gets worse. I have tried various painkillers and meds but nothing has worked so I gave up on prescription drugs and I don't like taking medication.

While I was searching for alternative and natural fibromyalgia remedies, I found a crazy Italian guy on YouTube who had fibro who was ranting about the effectiveness of juicing to get rid of the fibro pain. He had suffered from fibro pain for years and was just about at the end of his tether until he found juicing.

I wasn't new to juicing, I already had a juicer so decided to start juicing to see if it would get rid of the pain.

I juiced for two days, no other foods just juice, four of them each day and to my amazement the fibro pain went. The relief from the pain was wonderful. This only works as a temporary measure, it does not get rid of fibro completely. But it is a blessing when you are riddled in pain, knowing that you can juice and the pain will go.

This is how I manage the fibro. We should all try to live stress free lives but its impossible to avoid stress completely, so when I get stressed and get the fibro pain I turn straight to the juicer as I know that usually the next day I am pain free.

I use a Phillips Viva juicer for all my juicing and a Phillips blender.

But when I am having a fibro flare up, it takes about 4 days of pure juicing, daily Reiki treatments and EFT tapping several times a day, for everything to subside and start feeling 'normal' again. Fibromyalgia remedies are not quick and do take time to work.

Your Healing Level

Everyone with fibro will have different degrees of pain and symptoms so juicing will work in varying degrees also. For some people it may only take a day or two for juicing to work, others it may take a week of juicing. So its important to know that you have to experiment with juicing, to find your healing level, how many days it takes for you.

Please Note!
Juicing may not be suitable for all fibromyalgia sufferers. Fibro almost always comes with something else and everyone will have a different combination of ailments and complications. IBS is a common fibro infliction therefore, juicing may not be recommended as they will may require the fibre to maintain blood sugar levels.  

If I know I have a stressful situation on the horizon I start juicing beforehand to avoid the pain. Although fibro pain can hit you for no apparent reason.

A Typical Juice Recipe

4 apples
1 banana
2 pears
handful of strawberries
handful of cherries
1 lemon
2cm piece of ginger

1 avocado
handful sugar snap peas
2 big handfuls of kale
1 big handful of spinach
1 red pepper
3 carrots

Put all the fruit and vegetables, except the banana and avocado, through the juicer.

Pour the juice into a blender with the banana and avocado and blend for a few seconds.

You can put ice cubes in the mixture to give a beautiful cool drink. This makes enough for 4 juices for the day.

This is my favourite juice for fibromyalgia!

Nutrients to heal

There are so many juicing recipes available on line. Juicing recipes for fibromyalgia are being used a lot more now. Experimenting with your own recipes can be fun and also researching the nutritional value of foods to use when making your own juices.

For example ginger is a natural anti-histamine, anti-inflammatory and antibiotic, helps with travel sickness, helps to stop blood clots and lower cholesterol. It contains copper, potassium, sodium, iron, calcium, zinc, phosphorus and magnesium. 

I now start my day with a green smoothie to ensure my body has plenty of nutrients.

Handy hint

I usually make my juices in the morning and then I store my juices in the fridge until I'm ready to drink them throughout the day. Don't leave them for more than 24 hours though. The juices can also be made and put in the freezer. This is something I do for emergencies as you never know when the pain is going to strike.

A study carried out by Husak and Bair (2020) relating to people with fibromyalgia with chronic pain and sleep disturbances have greater symptoms of severity, longer duration of symptoms, and more disability. The research carried out identified that pharmacological and nonpharmacological treatments may be beneficial in the treatment of fibromyalgia sufferers with chronic pain and sleep disturbances. 

This indicates that treatment other than prescribed medication may be helpful to sufferers.

Arranz et al, (2011) identified in their study that their research group changed their diets in an effort to improve their fibromyalgia symptoms through nutrition by changing the foods they ate and incorporating supplements into their daily diet. All dietary information for the study group was given by a health professional.

This indicates that your diet plays an important role in your management of fibromyalgia symptoms and can be improved with nutrition and supplements.

Research is now becoming evident that fibromyalgia remedies, albeit temporary, are recognized in the treatment of fibromyalgia.

A word of Caution!

Juicing will not cure fibromyalgia and not all sufferers will be able to tolerate juicing because of other health conditions they have that are associated with fibro.

Fibromyalgia juicing is one of the remedies that only gives temporary relief!

I have tried to give you as much information as I can about how I cope with fibromyalgia and what works for me, so that it might help you. The fibromyalgia remedies here will not work for all sufferers.
